Caliper painting?

I've seen several posts about people using VHT paint on there calipers. My question is, do you have to bake them like the directions say?

Off the Vehicle
Paint must be completely dry before curing
Heat to 250°F (121°C) for 30 minutes
Cool for 30 minutes
Heat to 400°F (204°C) for 30 minutes
Cool for 30 minutes
Heat to 650°F (343°C ) for 30 minutes

I haven't seen anything about people doing this. Also do you use the clear coat as well?

Thank you for any Input

Baking? Why is this necessary? I'm getting a g2 kit. No priming or clearcoat necessary.

G2 is better, and it doesn't fade away the color!

I used the G2 kit and was very happy with the results. You have to put your car up on jack stands and clean the brake dust completely out . Once you open the can and mix in the activator, you have 4 to 6 hours to use t. It hardens like a piece of plastic around the caliper and remains super glossary. The paint is self leveling and shows no brush marks. Painted without removing the calipers from the rotor.

Before high temp decal

GraySS - How hard is it to apply? Did you remove the Caliper completely or can you tape off the area you don't want to paint and paint it, as it sits on the rotor? I am weighing whether to paint using the g2 or have them powdercoated.

I used the VHT and the color has held up great for the last year. I did use clear. I sprayed 3-4 coats color, applied the decals then 3 coats clear. Calipers were sanded down and degreaed well before painting.

G2 is more expensive and you have to use a paintbrush. Whatever you use, get caliper clear coat spray a few layers, it will look way better it will look powdercoated

You can leave them on. Brushing the paint on isn't difficult at all. I did 3 coats on all 4 calipers. 1 kit was plenty to do this. I added been I decals and clear coated

How long do you wait between coats? Also i have the chevrolet stickers, is it proper to put the brembo decal as well? I really like the gloss of those calipers!

I used 500 degree engine enamel from Advance Auto. A can of orange and clear coat. Bought the hi temp decals online. And applied the clear coat on top of the decals. Engine enamel wears like iron and nice smooth finish. Did mine over a year ago and still looks like when I first did it. Do yourself a favor take the time to pull the calipers and clean it and paint it removed from the car. You should do the disks as well because they rust if you don't.
