Talking Supercharger in my future?? Help me out :)

Hey everybody,

I got a black camaro SS with 22s on them, and i need more power to be quite honest. Gas mileage is a minor concern.. i dont wanna be filling up my car every week like twice.. as for my driving habits.. i will be driving the car probably 3-4 days (about 30 miles a day) out of the week. but anyway.. once i buy a supercharger.. what other mods would be necessary so that there are no engine problems in the future for my camaro? it only has 7000 miles on it and I have had to get the ac belt replaced once. To be quite honest, i want reliability, kick-ass performance (ATLEAST 500 horsepower), and about 15-16 mpg in the city. I don't want to be taking it to get shit fixed for it if something goes wrong. I hope you guys understand my dilemma and I need some expert advice or some from those who already have their superchargers. Plus, anybody know where I could get that see-through hood like the zr1 has? how much would I be looking to spend for the purchase and the installation? should i worry about the warranty as well? PLEASE HELP ME OUT :((

i have a maggie. it's a blast. as far as factory warranty goes , it's out the window. you can buy a warranty from magnason. you can also get one from edelbrock ( e-force ) . just know any time you go up in hp you brake things. goooood luck ,you only live once .

I love my Maggie TVS-2300, just dyno's at 490tq-513hp with the Maggie (Tuned), K&N CAI and Stainless Cat Back. YOu get a SC, you must be prepared and accept if anything breaks. The warranty the SC companies sell sound like a great deal, the problem is they are only good if a pro installs your charger. Good luck with your decision. I can easily get 17MPG average and 25 on the freeway if i'm mellow with it.

Depends on how much money you have...if you want a safe motor then upgrade the shortblock to forged components prior to the SC, both the magnuson and edelbrock SC make about the same power and getting to 500rwhp (600 at the crank) is no problem with either. If you do the stroking/forging of the shortblock AND the supercharger you are going to have to start looking at upgrading the fuel, suspension and diff bushings...it goes on and on....

I have the 2.9 Whipple and love it! You can't go wrong with the Whipple, Maggie, Edlebrock or Kenne Bell.

If you have the extra $$, go with the pro's. You won't regret it (Just hide the check book entries from the wife!!).

well you have many options on supercharges, centrifical, roots, twin screw. how do you drive the car b/c this will play what supercharger you may want. the twin screw like a kb or whipple makes some good power at safe levels of boost. i would talk to some of the shops on here and see what they recomend.

Feel free to give us a call and we'd be more than happy to go over all the pros and cons involved with all of your options. Not to mention any supporting mods that you may interested in.

THanks

Maggie is the way to go and I figure you will lean toward it as more and more recommend it that is why so many people have it. The other setups are just as good in my opinion but the one that has been out the longest for camaro and installed by thousands without issues = maggie
