Going to buy a new pony car! Need help!

Since I'm sure there is a little bias on this site I posted this in a mustang forum as well. I'm looking to get a new pony car and cant decide which one. As of now the Challenger has been ruled out for obvious reasons and the only ones left are the Camaro and Mustang. I'm lookin for the SS or the GT since I'm after performance. To be honest I'm kind of leaning toward the Mustang. Everything I read is slanted to the Mustang and it seems like it might just be the better choice. Since I havnt made up my mind yet I was hoping I could get a little more insight. If I could get the new Boss 302 right now the choice would be easy, but since I can't it comes down to these 2.

If you guys could please give me some reasons why I should not buy the stang and get the Camaro I would appreciate it. Although there is surely a bias please try to keep the responses as true and accurate as they can be. I'm not looking for an arguement, rather a well informed discussion between the 2.

Challenger... yes. Mustang... no. Camaro... YES. I don't think we need say anymore. Look at the reviews (the real ones and not the BS ones I think you've seen... nothing is pointing towards the Mustang). The steady sales of both the Camaro and Challenger speaks volumes... there's NO reason to buy a Mustang right now unless you're willing to spend the dough for a HIGH end model (and even then I'd still go with the SRT8 Challenger over that). Mustangs look like everything else out there... moms, sons, brothers, and sisters drive them. Camaros and Challengers are unique and the driving crowd is MUCH better.

Why rule the Challenger out? I'd get it LONG before even considering a Mustang...

All I had to do was park the Camaro next to the lineup of Mustangs at the Ford dealership (and only as a favor to my Mustang-lovin' husband) to see the difference and make a choice. Well I'd made my choice but HE had to see the RS next to a mustang before HE was sold.
I just think there's too many Mustangs out there. I wanted something a little cooler. Camaro was the answer for me. Good luck making your choice and whatever you choose, ENJOY the hell out of it!

A little bias?

Camaro rocks, Mustang sucks and Challenger is okay.

Personally I think all three cars are great ... What I look for is appearance and the best standard equipment. I rule out the cars that I have to pay extra for all the nice things ... I look for the best bang for the buck ..

Camaro has an independent suspension vs. the Mustang's live rear axle.
Camaro doesnt have a radio antenna sticking out on the passenger's rear panel like cars from the early 90's
Camaro has the cool factor and stunning design, Mustang has the same basic design/design cues since 2005!
Camaro has 20 inch wheels, Mustang not

This is just from the top of my head

You should consider the actual owners responses. Not the magazines that favor their highest paying advertiser.
Camaro is the highest owner satisfaction of any vehicle in its category ranked by JD powers.

People often don't realize how biased and bought off magazines are.

If you buy a Mustang, you're just following the herd and drinking the cool aid with everyone else. If you look at it completely objectively, the Camaro SS and Mustang GT are virtually dead even in performance. The magazines choose the Ford because they pay more.

Actually the Camaro outsold the Mustang last year, so YOU were the one following the herd and drinking the Kool-Aid.

To the OP, I'd say to drive both cars and put the most weight into that. After all, it's going to be YOUR car, not anyone else's. You have to make the payments, you have to drive it, etc. Get what you want.
