A Happy 2011 SS2/RS owner from Colorado

Hey, long time car guy. I've owned 3 DSMs (90 turbo laser, 93 talon and now 97 Talon TSi all heavily modified 12 sec cars@ 5000ft Elevation).. Now new to the family is my black beauty 2011 SS2 RS.

I've slowly making changes but I really love this car. I have looked at buying so many different cars and test drove them and kept coming back to the Camaro.
I looked at a Lotus Exige, 2003 Lotus Espirt V8 TT, 2006 Viper, 2008 Vette, New Dodge Challenger SRT8 and considered building a Factory Five GTM.

The Lotus's look awesome from the outside, a nightmare on the inside. You are in a cave with less than a fraction of an inch between you and the passenger in the Exige. The Espirt has a removable glass roof that you can't store on the car. Sure these were awesome handling cars and plenty fast but all I could do is think about getting out of that coffin. The interior was pretty cheap too. Plus you have to get the thing tuned every 11k miles and keep records, what a pain! You could do the tune yourself but if you want to keep the value$ you pay an authorized dealer to do it and document it.
.
The Viper was crazy fast but uncomfortable to drive. The Vette was very comfortable and pretty awesome actually but with these 4 cars I realized I needed a back seat, for the kids. I knew I wanted a car right away so taking a year to build a GTM was just not going to happen.

I realized what I really wanted was a Vette with a back seat and I really just love this LS3 engine. By the way, the Challenger was WEAK, not at all what I was expecting. Yes I did drive the STR8, my issue was gearing, rev limiter to low, handled like a Frieghtliner Truck and too heavy. The interior was cheap and it cost 12k more than the Camaro.

I kept coming back to the Camaro and when I hopped in the 2011 and saw the heads up display I was in love. Course all you guys know too is it handles awesome and is super comfy.

Well, all of us here agree that your decision on the 2SS/RS was the BEST choice ever.

Enjoy your new Camaro...

So story on the lights, I installed a row of flexable LED bright white lights tied into the side markers so they come on with the Halos, unlike the DTRL. I really didn't like the day time yellow lights and I wanted lights that would come on with the headlights or just with the halos.
I'm sure it's a matter of personal preference, most people love them a few people prefer things left alone and I understand.
