in that case, if it's your "prom" and you are a senior, i say yes. As long as you are the only person to even sit in the drivers seat.

I don't have kids, but I would let my kid drive my Camaro if they had proven they can drive. I got to drive Camaros, Corvettes, Vipers, and a Porsche to events when I was in high school. That being said there Is a line the family friend wouldn't let me drive his Ferrari....ever.

Meh, I say why not? I mean you already know that your Dad is attached to it so you know how much it means to him that you not mess up the car. Boyfriend must not drive it!

I would say no just because I wouldn't trust the other kids at school. Kids don't seem to have the respect that they use to. My only concern would be letting my kid take it and somebody do something like key it just because they were jealous. Maybe you could have your dad give you guys a ride in it. It would be like having your own personal limo accept way cooler

The kiddos always win out over the car...that being said, if he entrusts you with the car, you should, in turn, respect it as his prized possession and treat it with utmost care...which includes keeping the reins on your boyfriend's right foot (if he is the intended driver). I was fortunate enough to be raised by parents who loved and trusted me...which includes a dad who is a "gearhead." He owned some pretty cool stuff when I was growing up (Monte SS, Grand National, Typhoon, etc.) and he let me drive them all with the caveat, "if you come home with a speeding ticket, you're done with the toys." In return, I respected them and stayed out of trouble. When my two-year old son gets his license, I'll let him use my toys, too...just like my father did for me (and with the same warning).

I'd definitely say no. I know how much people in high school like to show off, and with as much power as that car has, it'd be very easy to accidently lose control and crash. Only was I'd say yes if i were him, is if he rode in the backseat for the night to supervise the use of his car. Sorry..
