Local Shop in Metro Detroit for Dash-ABL Lights ???
Hey guys. Im looking for a local shop that can do the Dashboard ABL lighting install for my Inferno Orange interior. I have seen the DIY's, but would rather have a professional do it so none of my interior panels get scratched or messed up.
Any suggestions ???? Or even someone local who has already done it to their Camaro that wouldn't mind a side job ????

I'd help you out, but I'm not sure you want to drive all the way to E.L. for that.
Do you have all the parts? (2 maybe 3 lamps and the digikey light tube?) You can see my older in dash light method and how the digikey light tube, and the GM lamp looks in this thread. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84133 |

skuttduck,
No, I dont have any of the parts. I had seen a few people on here had tried various methods (GM light tubes, EL light tape, etc..) and had been waiting to see which yielded the best result. Unfortunately however, I have not seen a successful Dash ABL for the Inferno Orange colors. For this I would assume the GM light tubes would provide the best color match. But having never attempted this, I dont really know. Your install looks really good. What would you suggest?

In case you wonder why I say you need two lights. I actually tried Red LED's in my dash. The red isn't nearly as bright as the ice blue, and faded. I went back to stock after that. In fact I still have these RED alpena LED lights. I'd give them to you if you wanted them. Or just get them from Advanced Auto parts. However, you may need to get the GM lamps to get the exact color match. I suggest the digikey light tube method as using the airline tubing to attach it, you get the exact color matching the rest of the car. |
