Way to go!! Looks like everything was in the 330ft as far as going faster then your low 11's. I knew these cars could go ten's!!

The first run, the rear of the car snapped to the left so hard, I lifted. The car immediately straightened out, so I got right back in it. Slowest of the night. The second run was a bit better, as the car only fishtailed left to right about 3 times, and I was able to stay in it. My highest mph ever......at the time. 129.2!

3rd run had me launching very gingerly due to the way the first 2 went, which led to the 2nd slowest 60' of the night. Since there felt to be more traction, I launched a little harder on the 4th run and the 60' dropped and got me within reach of the goal and handed me my fastest pass ever up to that point. 11.12 at 129.59!!! My highest mph yet. I made a third run in a row since we were heading in the right direction, and got my first 1.7 60' of the night, which led to another new record of 11.06! Oh so close! The mph dropped off on that run to 127.95, so I knew it was time to let the car cool a bit before trying to set a 3rd record for the night.....4th if you count the mph separately.

After sitting for a bit over an hour, the supercharger actually felt hotter than it was when I ended the fifth run. I got the idea of making a pass to see if the continually dropping temp, now down to 32 after starting near 45, would actually cool it down from sucking all the cold air in and circulating the intercooler fluid through the heat exchangers. So the 6th pass was more or less a throw away run to prepare for the one to follow. It allowed me to check the grip of the track, which still felt good, and to hopefully cool the supercharger system. Knowing this would be my best shot to make it happen, as I would be out of time to let the car sit and cool anymore since the track would be closing in about 30 minutes, I hot lapped (or should it be cool lapped in this case) the car back to the starting line. Done my highest speed burnout to date (over 100mph), trying to get some heat in the tires on this ice cold night. I took my time on the tree, because I had to make sure I didn't over load the tires on launch, yet not come out too soft either. I nailed it!! My second best 60' ever. The car launched as hard as it could have. No tire spin until right at the end of first, a bit more after it shifted to second, and then the tiniest bit when it hit third. It was the perfect application of power for the stock tires for the conditions. Any more or any less power, and the ET would've suffered. I might have to attribute that to Torque Management. It may have been my friend on that run. If it was holding back any power, it was the perfect amount.

Knowing I had done my part and launched the car as good as I ever have and the track had just enough grip to take what the car and I were giving it, I was very optimistic I had just silenced the doubters and affirmed the believers, but I was still worried the car might not have cooled and the mph drop would leave me just short. Luckily that wasn't the case. I could barely contain myself once I was handed the slip and I saw the time. I was so excited that I started throwing my fist in the air so hard, that I was bouncing up and down. I was greeted by 4 more fists in the air as I pulled back into the pits where my son and friend were waiting. I'm normally not one to show a lot of emotion, but I revved the engine, then jumped out, threw my fists in the air, and let out a Ric Flair WOOOOOOO!!!! Everything had finally came together to put the first bone stock ZL1 with the factory rubber and all, in the 10s!
Well done! Clay City was where I took the first 10 second pass in an ATS V. I'd never been there prior but it was all that was open that weekend before the weather shut them down. 10.9 at 127mph was what that one was. I couldn't believe it myself. Happy to see it!

Yes. On that night, the difference between the 10 and 11s, was all in the launch. The best times always are. Comparing the 10 to other passes I made back in the summer with almost identical 60', the difference was all in the air. The car just made more power and pulled harder all the way down the track with the evidence in the increasing speed and continually dropping ET at every timer.

That was the exact same case for me. It was the only track I could find open nearby. I'd been by that track hundreds of times when I lived in Hazard, but that's the only time I've ever been there. Wow on the ATS V!! What was done to that thing?! That's awesome!!

I'm confused... you can't go into track mode with suspension in Tour... and if you turn everything off there is no track mode as well.

You have to go into the infotainment screen and set the suspension to Tour instead of being linked to the drive mode. Same thing I did with the exhaust that I always keep in Track mode. This way no matter what drive mode you select with the button behind the shifter, the suspension stays in Tour and the exhaust stays in Track. I left the steering linked to the drive mode so I can feel what mode I'm in without even looking at the dash because of how much the steering effort changes between modes.

So once you've done that, use the mode select button to enter Track mode. Then simply hold the traction control button down for 7-10 seconds until both the traction control light and the stability control lights have turned on. This means all nannies are off. The exhaust, engine/transmission, and steering will be in Track mode, and the suspension will be in Tour mode. You can't use line lock or any PTM this way because you can't go into Competition mode with everything off, but you don't really need them.

I normally keep my car in Sport mode for everyday driving with the Suspension in Tour and Exhaust in Track. I like the steering feel of Sport the best for everyday driving and also like how the transmission works best in that mode. I've not noticed any performance gain at the drag strip from using Track mode and have actually made most of my runs in Sport. I think I used Sport for most of my 11.1 passes, but I did use Track on all of my runs the night I ran the 10.

Good Info, kinda thought that is what you did, but i am glad you explained it.

Same here, and I configure my settings pretty close to the same.

The Track mode I was actually thinking about when I asked the question was PTM "Race" mode which are definitely more useful on a road track and better turned all off on the drag strip IMO.

I thought that's probably what you meant, but wanted to try to clear it up for anyone interested. I think using line lock and launch control in PTM Race might work pretty good with drag radials. I'll try it out when I get a set.

Did you heat up the tires at all?
