Squeak in steering wheel help

Not sure where to post tried finding info but I've got a squeak like a rubber rubbing rubber sound when moving my steering wheel side to side less that 6 inches each way. Car can be still or can be moving and I can still feel the rubbing in the wheel itself. Anyone else have this issue or know what it is? 2013 rs 49k miles and power steering fluid full.

I just had my Camaro at the dealer last week because of the steering wheel making a noise when being turned. I thought it was in the steering wheel area, but it turned out to be the steering gear. So I would get it to the dealer so they can check it out.

This is correct (well, at least this was my experience) and turned out to be the steering rack. Many other threads cover this same steering noise.

Is this something that has to get changed out immediately? Or is it something you can deal with because that's like $800+ minimum probably

It's just noise, I've had mine for well over a couple years.

Its really the rack that transmits that sound? I thought it was the clockspring making noise..

Man, these 5th gens really are full of all sorts of 'little' quirks.

Check to make sure the catch can is functioning as well as the flux capacitor.
