I think we ALL have. lol

You certainly can't go wrong by following the manual. I did. No problems but I know a few guys who didn't follow recomended break in and thier cars scream. And no problems. If I had it to do over again, I'd romp on it from the beggining.

You should follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

Do you have to break it in slowly, and what will happen if you dont? because I know I probably will be flooring it when I get my camaro.

As one racing mechanic told me, if its right, its right; just drive it from day one. Besides, if it isn't, you want to find out while under warranty. I have taken and applied that advice to all my motor toys ever since without regret. Money back advice.

orrrrrrrr.........

you can ask highly experienced engineers (including those from GM) and get the same answer as you did for the motorcycle engines.

oooooorrrrrrrr......
you can follow the manual.

Really it's up to you. Sarcasm or not, you don't know for sure until you've had first hand experience.

some people say to stomp on the gas, drive it like they stole it, some BS about the rings.

The manufacturer says not to.

Your call...

I will break mine in soft as the manufacturer recommends this summer. This is time for the parts to wear a little and "break in" before you pound the shit out of it.

Your call.. if you break it by not following the MFR break in instructions, good luck getting it fixed.
Your warranty cannot be voided depending on how you broke it in.

How is anyone suppose to tell how you broke it in?

and who exactly do you think wrote the break in procedure on the manual.

This is a tired topic and some people are stubborn. So like I said, break it in as you please. But don't belittle those who do it otherwise. That's not what we're here for.
