Is anybody here a volunteer with an emergency light setup?

So it's basically summarized by the title. Is anybody here a volunteer and has a car that has lights set up for emergencies. It doesn't matter if it's a camaro or something else. And can you post a video. I happen to spend a lot of my time in the hudson valley over the summer (all 5 counties), so I'm pretty sure that as long as I became a volunteer ems, then I could set up all three of my cars. Can anybody post a video with your emergency light set up on. From what I know, I could either use blue or white in ny.

You can't have emergency lights here, unless you are an emergnecy vehicle.

I would hop on Whelen, 911EP, or Code3's website and find some things that would work.

Like flip down visor light. They attach to your visor and have a 12 volt plug. They are removable and could take them from car to car.

Couple advantages, you only have to buy 1 or 2 of them. (If you want both sides.) And most importantly, you can take them out. (Lest you be known as THAT guy)

Depends on the state you live in. And there are specific guidelines as to what is required lightwise for an emergency vehicle. I would first talk to the organization u plan to volunteer with and then check ur local laws on emergency vehicles.

Yeh, I know, I'm going to volunteer what little time I will have. As for what is required lightwise, I can't use red and the two colors that are mostly used are green and blue, but I can also use other colors such as white, if I'm not mistaken

I agree, check with your department and local laws first. That being said, there are guys on here who have set up their vehicles with emergency lights (some being cops, some being roadside workers) and they have all looked very professional from what I've seen. Whelen is definitely your best resource, and their customer service should be able to help you out with what will fit. A lot of it will depend on what you are able to spend on the setup.

Counties that can't afford a full time decked out firehouse (as in a few firemen that are getting paid for full time work) and ems have such a thing called volunteers. If a person becomes a volunteer then he agrees to spend his free time helping out in a worst case scenario. Therefore, if a volunteer needs to get to an emergency within a specific time limit he needs to be able to get there using his/her own car. That car(s) can be equipped with emergency lights in order to get through traffic quicker.

My friend had emergency lights in his Dodge Ram but I don't have any pictures. He was a volunteer fire fighter.
