black lug nuts vs chrome

hi guys as many as you kno i just got some lexani r3 rims. they came with chrome locking lugs on black wheels. should you have black lugs so stay with the chrome or retun them and get black or what about getting the lugs powder coated

I personally like the contrast. Black wheels/chrome lugs. Chrome wheels/black lugs. It's all a preference. There is no right or wrong answer.

I don't think the paint no matter what kind will hold up to a lug nut wrench or impact gun. I'd go chrome.

Lose the locks imo. Waste of time...yours when you lose the key.

It would probably be cheaper (If you choose the black route) to simply buy a black set of Gorilla lug nuts. They come as a set of 20 so all the lug nuts match and typically sell for around $60.
I've had them on both my 2011 SS, and now on my 2013 ZL1.

This. And black on black looks better in my opinion.

The dealer lost my lug lock key on my stock rims, so when they busted the chrome ones off, I was more than happy to bring them the black gorilla lugs. As far as I'm concerned the chrome looks ugly af on black rims.

As for the paint coming off, exactly how often are you taking your rims off?
As for losing the key lug, this is why you buy a spare. When you buy the gorilla lugs, they give you a sticker in the box with a serial number and address. It's around $12 or so.

My black one are holding up better then the chrome. The Chrome rust fast and look worse then a chip or two on the black. Easy to touch up a chip as well.

Hell, I seldom ever do but every time they balance or rotate my tires. The monkeys in the dealers garage love to torque them tight with the impact.
