Dings Anyone?

Anyone else having an issue with dings in the doors and side panels or is it just me? After discovering another in the drivers door, I now have collected three in the last 6 months. They seemingly come out of nowhere. Seems the metal used in these cars is super soft and super sensitive. I avoid tight spots, park well away from the masses, leave plenty of room to spare, not sure what to do. Never have had issues with my other vehicles. Frustrating!

I park far away everywhere I go.

I actually check out parking lots before deciding where to park. The slope of the lot even comes in to play... Be more anal and you'll stop getting dings for the most part.

My car is dinged up on all four corners. It's a high mileage daily driver and I've pretty much given up letting them bother me.

Sounds to me like you have been parking in areas with lots of careless people! I wouldn't blame soft metal on the body panels.

Just be a little more picky with where you park and hopefully there will be a decline in the number of dings you're getting.

I have no dings so far.

Not sure how much pickier I can be without looking like a full on ass parked out in the remotest space. Cars not driven everyday.

Doorshocks? Ok now we've seen it all

How would that make you look like an ass?

There are two good things about parking far. You're walking more, and you're keeping your car safe.

You'll only look like an ass if you park diagonally across 2 spots.

Yeah, Doorshox... I saw these while back on a car in my neighborhood. I looked it up, ordered a set and they really have come in handy. Very easy to take on and off.

Here is a pic of what they look like. But check out their site for more detail.

Please, there is so much cheap comprises on these cars. None of my older cars ever had a ding. Sneeze on it and it will ding, but what else can we do. Soft metal is the sin we live with and yes it is part of the problem.
