I've owned a Tint and Acc store for 28 years. glasstintetc.com
My entire windshield is tinted with 50%, also on all my other GM vehicles.
Put lots of 50% on customers vehicles windshields regularly.
Never had this problem, they may have got it wet are dirty and or disconnected it in the course of the job.
Take it back to your tint installer and ask him to check it out.
But for sure 50% is not your problem.

Yesterday, early afternoon, clear sky, bright sun, the headlights were off. But once it got cloudy they turned on again. I'll check with the tint installer.

What you just posted is proof it is the tint on the front windshield. Bright sunny day more light getting through. Cloudy= less light. The automatic sensor is working correctly.

I'm sure a ZL1 DRL harness will fix this problem, if you don't have it already.

Guys, I got some sick new Rayban sunglasses the other day but everytime I wear them I can't see as well, like it's dark out or something. As soon as I take them off though I see perfectly fine.

My reading glasses I see just fine with them on as I see with them off, but not with these guys.

Anyone know what's up with that? I'm going to go check with the salesman I bought them from cuz this is not acceptable!!!

My windshield has been tinted 50% for months with no issues whatsoever. The shop owner that did my tint owns a 2013 SS and has his tinted at 50% and all his other cars as well with no issues.

Or, do you only drive in the daylight?

I can't believe that is remotely safe visibility at night.

With the GREAT sunvisors that are in the ZL1, I need something better than a great pair of Oakleys! Couldn't decide if whole windshield or just thr brow. How hard is it to see out of 50%?
