RS headlights quality.

So I do quite a bit of driving in the dark and was wondering how good the halo lights that come with the rs package are. I know its hard to really describe, but what I'm looking for is distance illuminated, and side illumination. For both high and lows. This will be my first car with fog lights too. Thanks.

They are great. Turned them on last night at work and it lit up the whole parking area.

The lights are very good IMO, While driving they seem too bright but friends that have been heading toward me at night say it is fine, it looks awesome coming at you too! Have fun.

I've had my 2lt rs camaro for 5 days and have driven in it every night and the lights work extremely well. they are especially good when the brights are on. things are illuminated along way down the road. its hard to explain but trust me, they will get the job done with satisfaction

The Halo lights will not light up anything... they just look cool.

The projector HIDs however, that are "inside" the halos if you will, are very bright!

Yep, that pretty much sums it up.

Check out this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20605. Specifically posts 1 and 26 for comparison pictures of the HID headlights and halogens (Chevy Avalanche).

Be aware, the "fog lights" that come with the RS package are only used as DRLs (Daytime running lights). They can not be turned on at the same time as the HID headlights.

The HID RS lights are the brightest lights I've ever driven with! I drive a lot of different cars for work and rentals when I'm abroad and I've never been so pleased with the coverage and reach of these.

I'm sure there are aftermarket lights every bit as good and better but I really can't imagine needing anything more.

The Halos are for looks, but the HID's are great in a rural environment. If you have not had them before, the low beams cut a horizontal line that is dark above and lit below. Not really noticeable driving, except when close to something. Like a person at a cross walk will have their legs brightly lit, but the upper part of their body is dark. I think the "to the side" light is better with my Camaro, than anything else I have. You wont have fogs with some models, they will be the daylight running lights, like on my SS/RS. HTH.

So you can't use low beams, and fog lights together when its foggy. What's the point then, I don't get it.

There's a reason most high end sports cars and luxo's have been using hids for years. They are very bright but the light is controlled. Safer for both the driver and anyone headed towards you.

Great but bright. I've had a few people flash their lights at me thinking I was bright lighting them. Love em!!

The HID low beams cast a wide and bright light path. Even if you could turn on the fog lights at the same time, you likely wouldn't even see any additional light output in front of you.
