Got to start it last night. It's still on the old tune, so the computer is kind of freaking out. I just wanted to hear it, so we cranked it up. Here's a teaser.

Not yet. They're buttoning up a few things. Definitely going on tomorrow. The 4L80 robs a lot of HP, but I'm still hoping to make 700 RWHP on blower. I already have a Cold Fusion nitrous kit.

More than the 6l80? That's interesting. So then the sole benefit is being bulletproof? Excuse my ignorance. I'm just trying to learn for my future reference. Thanks!

I don't know that it robs anything more than a 6L80 but the real benefit is the bulletproof piece. These have been out far longer and the aftermarket is much deeper. |

Being bulletproof is definitely a huge benefit, but not the only one. I shift one less time in the quarter mile (finish in 3rd) which obviously saves time. Also, instead of switching clutch packs (like the 6L80) the 4L80 adds them. The shifts are instant which means I stay in boost and never get out of boost. I would guess because it's cheaper to build your own 6L80. |
