Oh, and if you *look* like you can afford the vehicle, they won't check the credit. At least around here. But recently, I haven't even been asked for a license. That's just plain dumb on the dealer's part.

This scenario was not uncommon a few years ago and I am sure it still occurs more than we know. That is the reason for getting a copy of the license before the test drive. This requirement is an insurance requirement and not the dealership.
