Will HUD be offered through GMPP

...I am hoping....I dont wanna wait until 2011 for HUD

anyways...the reason i am asking...its in the GMPP download catalog

go to page 4

http://www.gmperformanceparts.com/_r...09_Catalog.pdf

You dont really get the gesture that they are going to offer it as a GMPP product...but more of a feature of the car. Hopefully...since mine will be a later in the year build...i might see a HUD in mine....hopefully

The '10 MY's don't have the wiring, connections, nor is the computer programmed for it so even if you do buy it from GMPP you won't be able to put it in. Since it is slated as a '11 MY option I would be very surprised if they changed the wiring harness and offered HUD mid MY before it suppose to come out. The only way you might be able to get a '10 MY with the wiring harness for HUD is if you order a car in Oct-Nov next year after they started making the '11's. This way you MIGHT get a '10 with the '11 wiring harness if they ran out of the '10 wiring harness before you ordered yours.

I think the closest thing that will come to HUD was that dash/windshield-mounted LCD display that showed a bunch of engine/transmission/etc. parameters - not HUD though... I think that's too bad, personally, but they had to make do with what they had :(

Aye for now MSD DashHawk is coolest data you can get with just a plug in vs something like a DEFI hud which requires the DEFI link controller. It's cheese compared to the DashHawk.

The HUD needs probably a different harness to be put in at assembly and of course it needs a new dash pad and module. Then you plug that into the harness so it can talk to the computer.

HUD will likely not be offered through GMPP. It may be available in MY2011, but that, too, is uncertain. For a HUD, I would encourage you to try the aftermarket.

Doesn't HUD require a special windshield? That would make it quite an expensive add-on...

It doesn't REQUIRE it. It's recommended that you use it as the special windshield just makes it easier to see and easier on the eyes.

Lmao. I sure hope not. Hopefully it will be in line with the other cars that have it as an option, $200-$300.
