To all members you don't need to remove the fuse panel it will stay there if you do this.

The pick below will show you what bolts to remove on the driver side.

First 2 pic show which 5 bolts to remove from the driver fuse side, then 2 pics of the 3 bolts under the driver steering wheel, and last is 2 pics of the last two bolts on the two sides of the steering wheel.

Are you able to left either side up off of the pin? The bottom of the dash pad has to go up about 2 inches to get the sides of the dash pad off of the pins.
If it doesn't move up, there is a screw some where still holding it down. If it does lift up, but won't come back did you get that pain in the !@## screw that is behind R2D2 in the center of the dash?
If it is starting to come out towards the back of the car but stops, is the HVAC ductwork hanging up on the wiring harness that runs behind the speedo/tach?
Guess more info on what is moving and what is not may be necessary.
Joe

Picture of plate where that 7mm screw attaches. This is located behind and to the left of miniature R2D2, (light sensor) that is in the defroster vent.
Note: When you go to put the 7mm back in, the hole in the dashpad tends not line up with the hole in the mounting plate, as the dash keeps popping up out of the slot in the mounting plate. Use an awl to line up the holes, and put a cardboard or newspaper shim between the top of the dashpad and the windsheild. Also since I have such big hands, I hot glued the 7mm bolt into the end of the socket/extension to help get it started.

Picture of wiring harness with grey tie wraps pop out of the mounting bracket, and harness worked down in front of the mounting brackets.

Oh, one other thing, the drivers side of the dash needs to slide back either at the same time or slightly before the passenger side, otherwise the dash pad hangs up on the ignition switch.

Tell me about it i went to my car snapped of 12 pics then down loaded all of them and then opened up photoshop and re-sized them and did the text to them then uploaded all of them.

If you have a lot of good pics why don't you do a install DYI on the HUD and if i can add any thing to it i will.

Guess to do that will have to get an image hosting service of somekind, the 80 or so picture limit on this forum required me to decide which pictures to remove so I could add these! All it takes is time!
Most of the pics I took, were on the second day of the install, while I was waiting for my brother to arrive, to help put the dashpad back in.

Did you get the two 13 mm bolts for the airbag and the connector above the communcation module and battery? I would think that you've gotten these since you said it was loose. There are some small bolts/screws in the glove box area and the side of the panel.

Did you remove the A pillar pieces? That stopped me too. Ofer to the rescue on that one.
