It appears to get a bit better gas mileage IMO too as someone said earlier. I also seem to feel it runs smoother too. I don't feel as much vibration in the gear shift when I rest my hand on it. Just my thoughts.

I don't have 93 where I live, I have 91, but I agree. It just seems to run better, smoother, less hesitation as someone else mentioned. I don't feel it is a 'waste' at all.

If you only put 10 gallons in.

20 cents more per gallon x 10 gallons = $2.00

I did my long car trip to Florida again. First tank premium, and I noticed no difference in gas mileage when I switched to 87 for the rest of the way down and back.

For anyone that say using anything higher then 87 on a v6 is a waste don't have a clue what they are talking about.

Find a way to monitor knock and see for yourself how the knock pattern look on 87 and 93. I bet you will have a whole another outlook on 87 vs 93.

Just saying..lol

Does higher octane gas also help keep the fuel system cleaner?

Ran 89 initially for 10 tanks then switched to 87 for 10 tanks -- no performance/mpg difference so I've stayed with 87. Averaging 23 mpg in a 60 mile daily roadtrip commute which is 25% highway 50% main roads 25% local roads

Consistently use Sunoco...

If I was to switch to a higher octane do I need to do anything to the car before like pull a fuse or something?

No, not on a V6.
