I just finished fixing my wheels, this waiting around and spending a grand on a wheel that can be fixed so easily is retarded. Used fine grit sand paper to sand the scrapes down, primer and low gloss black engine enamel from duplicolor. Can't even tell they were damaged, fixed all 4 for $30.

I'll never drive through another one of those car washes with the Z again. Wife never has probs with her SS but the wider wheels and offset is just enough to cause problems for me. The number on the paint is DE1634, got it at napa. Also, once I sanded down I used a low voc cleaner to get the grease and dirt off, then primed and painted. Looks great once again. I'll see if I can get some before and after shots uploaded.

Why not just have the polished ones powder coated black? That's what I did and love the way they turned out! $125 per wheel done!

Cause either way people are having problems purchasing wheels through Gm for the zl1, whether its the polished 5 spoke or black 10 spoke. Mine came with black wheels which is what I wanted so I'm not gonna buy another set just cause of some scratches that can be fixed.

The tires are too wide to fit the usual car washes. |

Well nobody warned me and this is one of them that doesn't have the rubber pads or brushes. I've never run one of mine trough those cause of scratches and damage but thought I'd try this one out.

i thought about that but wanted to keep my 5 spokes original so down the road i will have both wheels incase i ever want to switch back to the polished. plus, it makes for good value in the future if i ever needed to sell the car
