Any suggestion on big brake kits?

hello camaro5 members,
I was looking to change my stock brake pads and rotors to performance spec ones... But I decided to go for a big brake upgrade kit front only, now I know there are a lot of 6 piston big brakes, I wanna know which is the best choice for the money... My budget is around 3000 $ maxx... Cheaper is better but can't mess around with brakes!

Any suggestion, offer , or help appreciated

Your OEM Brembo's are performance brakes. Changing the fluid to high temp fluid and switching to stainless steel brake lines will make a good bit of difference. Are you wanting to change for anything specific? Autox, roadcourse, looks?

I'd take a look at StopTech if you're serious about getting some good braking power! StopTech is less expensive than Brembo but it still has the performance behind it to back it up. Just a thought though, you should at least explore the option if you ask me

I think the wilwood setup is the best bang for buck. Its about 2000 and its got aluminum hats and 6 piston calipers. I think blu808 sells them.

Anyone used the Wilwood or Baer options?

And I don't understand how anything over $2000 is "best bang for the buck". I've seen the CTS-V fronts listed for $1200. They are bigger, work better than stock, and they are the same weight. And as noted in the link above, they have been used and tested.

Specifically I need them to be able to stop 850hp my car is currently aroun 625 on a S/C and the OEM brakes are not doing a gr8 job....
But I am in need for a big brake kit because my SS is currently under engine build.. So I need brakes to stop.... So am searching for brakes (best bang for buck)

Unless your driving on a road course and heating your brakes up significantly there is no reason you need a big brake kit. Even on a road course just getting some higher performance pads will tend to solve any fade issues you have.

Your also not going to stop any faster with a BBK either. Your tires are the limiting factor. Your ABS will engage before you reach the limits of your stock brakes.

When people think they are stopping faster with their new brakes with no tire changes all they are feeling is the initial bite. Your stopping distance is the same, it just takes less pedal to do it.

I went with the Brembo caliper only upgrade and Granatelli slotted and dimpled rotors.

Here are my StopTech's. The silver calipers look great with the Forgelines. The red or other colors would have clashed big time with the orange paint. 15 inch rotors up front and stayed 14 inch in rear. Barely bedded in but hope to get out to MSR next week or two to finish setting up the entire install which included KW Variant 3's and Pfadt Racing ASB's.
