3rd track day in 1LE: Waterford Hills
I received a last minute invite to instruct at the Roush Owners track event put on by Roush here in the Detroit area to coincide with the Woodward Dream Cruise. I/we are fortunate to have a smaller (1.5mile) road course within about 25 minutes of my house. Waterford Hills is a very technical road course with very little room for error or passing and multiple track surface that one must contend with. As they say, if you can drive Waterford, you can drive anywhere!

I couldn't agree more about the Recaros or that Waterford is a technical track! I was there for Camaro Superfest (driving much slower) and I could tell it was a lot of fun but as you stated little to no room for error. Glad you are enjoying your car. Hopefully I can join you next year at some track events (my budget is shot for this year).

Nice job, tied for fastest of the day with a modded ZR1 no less!
Interesting that the spring rates feel about the same as stock. Any issues with jounce with the reduced suspension travel? Curious on your thoughts on why you chose your alignment specs? I went with -2.0 deg front camber, -1.1 deg rear. I realize tires may wear out more quickly, but I'm tracking a couple of times a month for the next couple of months, so I went aggressive camber. Looking forward to your return to Grattan. Good times!

Wow!! nice that we can hang with cars having lots more power on a short track. Although I'm not really surprised because power means less and handling means everything in those conditions. Way to go! Oh and are you still 100% stock? Maybe need to change your sig if you now have the SLP, Pedders springs, etc?

Alignment was for two reason. I had -1.3 pre Pedders and I don't fully understand the black art of suspension but with a reduced travel I thought I could use a tad more up front. So -1.6 was picked. The rear was not by choice. I wanted -1.0 but the best we could get without camber bolts was -1.3/.4 on the left rear, so I went with that. No other reason. I do have bolts now sitting on my work bench but u am undecided what direction to go and I am leaving it for at least 2 more weeks. -Matt

Thank you Matt for this great bullet point review. You have a great way to get to the fun facts. I have a few points I wanna bring to the table regarding your comment about ''Rear wheel breaking loose under power on right turn, 2nd gear corner exit'' but im too tired to do so...going to bed. Tomorrow. Great picture and your car looks f.....g mean machine. Cant wait to see the video...you dont need to be passing cars for it to be good. Its the speed and grace I look for to see.
Mike.
