Question:
Does anyone know if they put 91 or higher octane fuel in the cars at the factory? I had the dealer leave my tank empty (filled it myself with 93 octane)

Other than the fuel that my car came with from the factory, it has never seen under 93 octane. Should I bother with the fuse pull? My car has plenty of power, but I really have no basis for comparison.

Only way to really tell is dyno or see trap speed at drag strip..
But since fuse pull easy and not hard to do doesnt hurt to just do it..

As I understand it, you would not need to. That being said, obviously your dealer had to put at least a little amount of gas in it at some point. I would think -maybe- that little bit is enough to trip the fuel sensor? I doubt they put a high octane fuel in it out of the factory. My dealer confirmed that they put 87 in mine and all their cars at time of sale and before.

Are we saying that the fuse pull for an LS3 was/has been/might be a placebo without the battery cable disconnect?

Mine seems sluggish right now. I thought I felt a difference with the fuse pull 3-4 month ago

Mine actually went down a bit. But that will happen when you get excited to mash the gas more.

It's been hard to nail this one down. BUT, what we DO know is that the dealer is gonna put some gas in it for the PDI. AND most dealers put low octane in it. Most dealers also haven't dealt with this issue as most owners don't even know theyare slower that they should be. My dealer always knew that a Corvette had to be taken across the street and 93 octane put in. They didn't really think about the fact that the engine in the Camaro is the same as the Vette.

But they admitted it and learned from it. AFTER I fixed it myself. They litteraly called me and told me they found the problem. I said, I did first. Nanner, nanner. LMMFAO!!!!!!!!!

In theory, you shouldn't have to pull the cable. Only the fuses. The schematics are the same.

The factory puts a very minimal amount of gas in them. So the dealer doesn't have to put much low grade in to retard the timing even IF the factory uses high grade.

I gotta assume the factory uses high grade since it IS and LS3.

I'm not sure. But you should only have to pull the fuses.

Just went out and drive awhile to get a baseline. My fuses are pulled. Will run it again in about an hour.

Unfortunately I didn't notice much change. But I haven't really felt that there was a problem. This is still an excellent find for those who it has helped!

Question: How do you know if your car requires this or not?

I have about 850mi on my L99 so far and can easily spin the tires/get a shitload of wheel hop with the TC turned ON and medium throttle.

Does anyone think I need it?

Sounds like the answer would be "Yes!"
Definitely can't hurt...
My fuses are pulled now and I plan to plug 'em back in tomorrow...
I'll report back w/results!
