22's down to 18's

If I went down to 18 inch rims would it help as far as highway rolls/digs? I currently running with 22's right now

Yes it would. It would be similar to changing to a 3.73 or 3.91 gear ratio.

Your speedometer won't be accurate either.

Rim size has nothing to do with either of the above...

It's the tire size that matters not the rim itself. If your wheels and tires was 29" with the 22 inch setup and you get 29" tall tires with the 18 inch setup the only thing that will change is the amount of sidewall given to help hook. Also you'll save a bunch of weight with a smaller wheel less material (usually) means less rotating mass. If you're looking for max performance for sure go to an 18" you won't regret it.

18's & 20"s have the same tire diameter effecting nothing. The width is wider on the 20's.

is it a stock size 22" and tire (if they have stock 22)?

it doesnt matter the tire size as long as the outside diameter of the tire itself (the surface that contacts the road) is the same. if you bought the car and they are not sock size i would suggest getting a window sticker to see what came stock then you can do online calculators on like a tires.com site to see how it affects your speed.
