Long tube Headers, CAI and Tune will get you around 35rwhp. A cam or supercharger is the next step based on your goals. Do you plan to track the car?

yes sir, I actually bought the car with the high hopes of learning to drive bigger tracks. we have been autoXing for a year now and love it with a 66 chevelle but, don't feel real comfortable at higher speeds

You are on the right track, but will want to add a catch can to that list to keep your intake clean.
Find a good shop in your area, maybe use the local sub-forum to ask around for recommendations. Talk to the shop you choose about your goals, and if you have the cash get it done all at once as a package to save money. Good luck man, and congratulations on the new ride!!

Don't overlook Stainless Power long tubes ,best bang for the buck and they fit without modification ( hammer free fit ) .

Look at the CAI intake (that is the company name) and an Apex or ADM air scoop with washer bottle relocation kit and either Kooks or Stainless Power headers.
The air scoop will help like a small ram air at speed. Won't show on a dyno, but will at speed. Also consider Apex lowering springs if you are tracking the car... |
