In the Austin area, our problem is sleet and ice rather than snow and, no, none of us know how to drive on ice.....wrecks all over the place, schools, government offices, and businesses closed.....local news warnings SEVERE weather watch (Icy and cold - 26 degrees). HAHA - sunday - back in the 70's.

We are used to snow here but the temp's have been below zero with wind chills of -20, more snow coming over the weekend. It is warmer today in Alaska and even Montana than here in KY.

By the way it is no longer "global warming" now it is "climate change" LOL

Freezing drizzle and a light dusting of snow here == schools closed and almost no traffic.

Easiest commute I ever had this morning!!

I am waiting to see if the post is going to open or not. I have to drive 30 miles to get to work so I decided to test the roads. Of course their are no snow plows here so the roads are just sheets of ice covered in snow. But the camaro is holding its own. It did slide a little but the traction and anti skid are doing its job. I have firestone firehawk all season tires and I feel fine driving. Only area she has issues is at stop lights but once she gets moving it is all good. Also had fun doing donuts in parking lot

I grew up and learned to drive in upstate NY so I know how winter driving works, but it's hard to dodge those who don't have a clue. It ain't pretty. STAY HOME!

Definitely this. Nobody here in the Houston area is prepared for this kind of weather. Icing and snow are rare, and we do not have snow chains or winter tires to help us maneuver the roads safely. And just as Palmer said... Half the people don't know how to drive in decent weather, none the less in this crap. I know that may not mean so much coming from an 18 year old, but trust me... Driving with me would be a godsend compared to half of the citizens of Houston and surrounding areas.

Suns out, and it's melting away. Schools delayed until 10. Probably been a couple of years since we've had any. Woke up to this... oh the horror!

Did your car need a jump-start to recover from cardiac arrest after discovering the strange white stuff covering it?

Seems like we've had snow every other day since Jan 1, not to mention the ice and negative temps. Still going to school here. But the south do freak out. I lived in Tampa, Florida and when the temps got down to 60* you saw everyone in winter coats and boots while I'm still in tank tops and jean shorts, lmao!! It was warm to me

Yeah Angie LOL, they had 2 hour delays here because it was 12 degrees out, no snow, no Ice. That's avg temp in January where I grew up.

I have cleaned more snow than that off of my truck every morning this week. However I do understand our southern friends have no experience driving in or more importantly removing snow and ice from the roads.
