HEAT
Since we are discussing keeping things cool. I have a question. My Internal temps on the DIC are reading 200 to 210 in 45 degree weather. Is this normal? I only have a CIA and Catch Can.
Thanks. |

You can put in a colder thermostat and turn on fans earlier but testing has shown it doesn't add much or any power. If your intake temps are cool and your oil and coolant temps are in that range your fuel will burn efficiently. More mpg less pollution save the whales and everything. If you wanted the fuel to evaporate even better you could make a Hot Air Intake like the old air breathers that had a flap on cold startup to draw air over the exhaust manifold to heat it up. This does wreck power output under heavy throttle so now they rely more on a hot spark, swirl in the combustion chamber and good atomization from the injectors. There is heating done during the compression cycle also. Just sayin' if you were building some max mpg engine... Oh too high combustion chamber temps makes pollution also. Instead of just harmless CO2 and H20 out the exhaust you get nitrogen oxygen molecules you don't want. |

These new Digital Temperature Controllers are very popular with V2, Camaro SS and ZL1 shipping already. Thermocouple gives us very fast updates.

Does the ambient air temp have any effect on the chiller water temp? I recently installed my chiller a couple weeks ago and the water temp went down to 22*F while in competition mode. Now, 2 weeks later, it only goes down to 42*F in competition mode. Only difference is ambient air temp is now warmer but I didn't think that would effect the water temp, only IAT 1 and 2. Does anyone know for sure?

So I answered my own question. Yes ambient air temperature does seem to have an effect on the chiller water temp. A couple days ago with air temps in the mid 80's my chiller water would only get down to 42* but this morning with ambient temps around 60* my chiller water temp is back in the low 20s.

This sucks sorry to hear, I hope you get it sorted out! Thank you for sharing I would probably be in the same predicament if it wasn't for the post on here I would have pulled the trigger on it myself already. I sent an email to WeaponX with no reply from them either??
