Mine did it too! Haven't even taken a look to see if it could be fixed. Just thought I would mention it next time I'm at the dealership so that the idiot fixing it can break something else.

It happend to mine also. I put the pin back in but couldn't get the spring in right. So now it just flops. I posted about it a while ago and pretty much everyone said "mine is fine", but this lid is so weak and flimsy. Not made very well.

Mine did the same thing...also lost 9 air dam fasteners under front bumper. 8100 miles.

Heading to dealer Monday.

I used the search feature, so don't blame me for raising this thread from the dead!!

This issue happend to me yesterday. I started messing with it for a few minutes, but with such little plastic pieces I didn't want to cause more damage. Now that I know it is fixable, it looks like I have a little project to do tomorrow.

Can someone post a pic or video on how to fix it. Seems like a re-occurring issue for most Camaro owners. Would be great to:

1. Post the part # for the lighter housing assemble. For a quick easy replacement.
2. Post a video to reset the spring and push the pin back (w/ tools). I'm guessing you need some really small needle nose pliers and maybe tiny screw driver...?

Found these:
