Same issue here; Based on the pic. looks like perhaps part of the pin broke off and is jammed in the lid (the little hole where the pin link up to the lid). Mine has done the same but on the other side so I could not actually see it clearly.

Does anyone know the part # for the replacement, also is it any better than the original to 'resolve' the problem to begin with. Seems to me it will break again if you actually use it again.
Mine came loose, but I didn't buy any parts to fix it. The hinge pin slid to one side allowing that side of the cover to come loose. This allowed the spring to come unhooked. I removed the whole 4-Pack gauges/shifter bezel assembly and used a small screwdriver and a spring hook to slide the hinge pin back in place and reattach the spring. I don't think that buying any parts is going to solve anything unless they have done a redesign on it. Mine may come loose again, but there's nothing to prevent a new one from coming loose either.

Awesome. If it happens again could you take a video of how you fixed it, please? How/where does that little spring latch go, do you put it behind the pin or something like that? Thanks, for feedback though, really appreciate it.

If I figure out how to fix it myself I may end up going with the smokers kit too. I think aesthetically it's cool even though I don't smoke anymore.

UPDATE: A member "Bradley" was gracious enough to get back to me with a part # here it is for US / Canada alike. Same part #22752148 but different GM parts reseller websites.

Thanks, gents for all your help.
