Well, today I joined the legion of people who have traded up to the SS. The dealership I work at gave me a killer deal on a 2012 1SS non-RS. I would have liked to have the RS package, but honestly...it's kind of neat to have a 1SS like this one because you don't see them everyday. I know we had a heck of a time finding one.

Here are a couple of pics. I still think the V6 is a great car with lots of power. I would recommend it, despite the issues I had with mine. However, for me, I just couldn't shake the torque withdrawal and had to do something about it. No regrets as the extra money is well worth it in my opinion!

I also want to thank everyone on Camaro5 for educating a Ford guy on the joys of Camaros! I have learned a ton from people on this board and hope to continue doing so. So, with that, I know so here you go!

Thanks! So far it's been a blast! It really is a different car. In this car, I feel the same excitement I used to feel when I would go drive my 03 Cobra...that sense that something awesome was about to happen each time.

Its hard to believe that a trim upgrade changes the whole feeling of the car. Anyway, I'm obviously very excited and I finally have the Camaro I should have bought in the first place. I now know what Permagrin is all about!

Usually takes signing the papers and driving home before you figure out what all the hype is about.

Good luck with the new ride, sounds like you did the right thing for you.

Thanks everyone!

I don't hate GM as people keep saying. My car had issues, I stated them...and that's that. For some reason, people don't understand that you can like a Mustang AND a Camaro AND a Challenger.

I'm not sworn to any particular brand. And I am THRILLED with my new Camaro!

I did. A lot of people will probably disagree, and I know it wasn't the smartest financial move that could have been made, but I am much happier now...so since I'm the one having to drive it and pay for it, that's kind of the bottom line for me. Not to sound like a jerk or anything.

Congrats on the trade in. Though many that have read your posts will find this thread comical.

Thanks. And people are, of course, free to think whatever they want.

We all want nice things, smart financial moves went out the window when we started buying brand new cars. Your last car was a worse financial move than your new one.

It's smarter to buy a car you can sell quicker for a fair price if things get tight, and a V8 Camaro is just that type of car. Unfortunately, a V6 Camaro is not a hot commodity.

Like you, I ended up with the car I should have bought in the first place, but I thought I wanted that crappy leather and all that other shit the first time around.
