Bandit/Knight Rider/General Lee Syndrome
Like the Bandit Trans Am of the late 70s, the 68/69 General Lee Charger clones, and the Knight Rider inspired third gens of the 80s; is anyone noticing that these new 5th gens could be a new generation of cars that, due to marketing placement have succumbed to what I can only call:
The Bandit/Knight Rider/General Lee Syndrome? IE: people at times refer to the 5th gen as 'Bumblebee' like people do a 3rd gen T/A "KITT" or a 68/69 R/T Charger "The General Lee car" |

if we havent already, we will have after the next movie comes out.......
HOWEVER, the fact that you can not buy a duplicate bumblee will make it harder to TRULY reach that status. There were plenty of Black and Gold SE Trans Ams made as well as Orange Chargers and Black on Black T/As

I hear where your coming from. I am a HUGE Knight Rider fan and when people I know see an 80's TA they refer to it as KITT. I would love to make a 5th Gen KITT and hopefully something could come about.

I've heard several kids say "look, it's the Transformers car."

I believe the smokey and the bandit trans am is closer than the other two. The dealers couldn't order enough of them. Also remember rocky bought one thus every Italain had to have one. This is the first car since to have the same effect.
