LS3 is the manual trans 426hp higher compression motor

L99 is the automatic trans 400hp with compression down around 10.1

LS3 - 426 HP / 420 TQ - manual 6-speed transmission - 10.7/1 compression ratio - 3.45 rear gear - 3860 LBS

L99 - 400 HP / 410 TQ - automatic 6-spd transmission - 10.4/1 comp. ration - 3.27 rear gear - 3913 LBS - variable valve timing (VVT), Active Fuel Management (AFM - also called Displacement on Demand (DoD)) - heads have notches which provide extra clearance for the valves - half the lifters are different and capable of being shut off for better fuel economy

So, dxy2jbaby, which Camaro do you own? Identifying your car will help future answers to future questions if you have any. Put L-99 or LS-3 in you signature would be helpful. Enjoy your Camaro.
