Front License Plate Holder (from Top Flight Reproductions)
Check out this link: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...e-bracket.html
I e-mailed them to find out if they'd be producing some for the new Camaro... these are a great alternative to states that have those pesky front plates required.... This is the response I got. Code:
Hi Bill, as soon as we can get our hands on a new camaro :-) Best Regards Peter C. |

Rolling along...

Why not? Isn't this the one that has the mounting plate held to the underside of the bumper on the 'Vette with 3M tape? Should be able to do the same with the Camaro.

I live in NY. Another state with the ridiculous front tag law. I flat out refuse to have holes drilled in my car for a license plate frame. Besides, it just looks fugly on these types of cars. I had a '92 Firebird I drove for years with no front tag and was never bothered. I also know two people with Vettes that have no front tag and have had no problems.
I'm not saying you won't get pulled over for it or even get a ticket for not having a front tag. It's also reason for a cop to pull you over even though he or she may not give you a ticket for not having it. However, Most cops (at least in my area) will see what you're driving and not bother you at all because they know why its not on the car. Most cops aren't bad guys. And if they do pull you over they probably just want to check out your ride. I would ask other people you know in your area that don't use a front tag to see if they get hassled about it. I'll take my chances but that's my 3 cents. |

So the front plate is drilled by the dealer? Or does it come predrilled from the GM factory for those states that require two plates?

I live in Ohio, another state w/front liscense, I got pulled over in my 93 Pace Car and told the SP I had ordered it from the dealer but they didn't get it yet, he bought it. Never put one on my old Vette either, never got stopped. Won't put it on my new 2SS either!

The only place I have ever had a problem with a front plate is at a military base. And all they told me to do was throw the plate up in my front window. The SS will not be drilled on.... unless for performance lol

I got my prototype front plate mount. These aren't the best pictures, but I wanted to post them up so you can at least get some idea. The back plate will mount behind the lower grill and the clear rubber bushings will keep the front portion from crushing the plastic of the lower grill. I hope to have some pictures of it on a car soon.
