My mom's birthday is tomorrow, so won't be able to make this one either.
I'll turn up again at one of these again, eventually..

No tires. Here's a pic of the factory wheels. They are painted a gun metal gray color.

Cool Question on Noise in Elvis

Guys,

Need input from you on a noise that has developed in Elvis over the last several months that appears to be getting louder. Have appointment with dealer to see what they say August 7th...soonest they can look.....

I am hard of hearing so this went unnoticed for a period of time but the wife went with me yesterday evening in Elvis and she said the noise is present for sure.

The tires (20 inch P Zero,s) have 13400 miles on them now and I cannot determine if the noise is from tire wear or something else.

What is the best way to determine if tire wear noise or even worse, a bearing in front or rear axel and/or differential ?

The tires do not appear to have any abnormal physical issues and tread still
looks good ?

I personally changed the rear differential fluid at 8000 miles and put GM recommended fluid, one quart and the small bottle of friction modifier.
Used bottle pump to install new fluid....Shop floor shows no fluid leaks and underneath car shows no fluid leaks.

Any input or personal experience will be appreciated... Not looking forward to dealer working on Elvis.......

Elvis:
Don't have a good list to eliminate the cause. Let's go for a ride at our next meeting to see if we can narrow it down.

Bad wheel bearings can usually be felt by jacking up the car and then try to 'wobble' each wheel to see if any excessive play on one wheel vs the others. Tire noise can sometimes be determined by driving on different road surfaces to see if the sound changes significantly. If the noise is the rear diff, shouldn't you hear louder noise from it in slow speed, sharp turns?

Would not recommend Peltier, their reputation says it all!

Cool

Thanks for input, I have gotten several folks to ride, drive and one said front bearings, another said tire wear noise.....one of my son,s says tire noise mostly likely front tires of which he showed me slight cupping, feathering mostly on inside.....then since it,s independent suspension,he checked the rear tires and they too also have slight feathering on inside....

Appears either it was never aligned properly from factory (Done on a jig for all and possible to be off slightly on the performance cars which may result in this , of course could never prove it)

Not covered on warranty per Chevrolet, alignment and possibly Perelli tires also,
Perelli says if Dealer tells them rotation, ect was then they may adjust...but not taking any bets on it...dealers always nice and agreeable when you are paying for 43,000 dollar car.....once bought....attitudes and service stop.....

Plan to have alignment checked, documented, corrected if indeed wrong, then buy new front tires, really hate to since only have 13,000 miles on tires?

Since independent suspension...alignment will include all 4 wheels and adjustments.....

Partly my fault for assuming it was aligned properly from factory and. Not noticing the slight tire wear which must make a huge difference on noise, sound.

Forgot to mention, since normal rotation not possible on our cars, side to side may not have been of benefit if the alignment is not correct from the factory....not sure side to side would he even if alignment was correct ?

Thanks for your help....
