How often do you use your emergency brake?

Emergency brake ????? Lol I just really notice my emergency brake, living in southeast Texas there is no point in having one. Its all flatland no hills whatsoever.....(I was told you only use the e-brake while parked on an incline or decline)

One time in my old Jetta I somehow forgot the e-brake and went into a 711. I glanced out to check on my car (crappy part of town) and didn't see it where I left it. I freaked and ran to my friend and asked if he was messing with me. He said no, so we ran out to look for it.

There it was 20 feet behind the parking space- ass of car to pole.
No damage, it rolled slow, but if the pole wasn't there it would have rolled right into a busy street.

After that, in every car whether manual or auto I always use the e-brake. A good habit to form....

Everytime I park it flat or not since I have the 6 speed I don't want to depend on the gear to hold it in place.

Almost every day just to keep the moving pieces out of rust.

They might jam after a certain time without moving.

I use it everyday. Iowa isn't necessarily hilly but I use it out of habit. I also use so if I do park on a hill then I don't get torque lock on the transmission.

I also have an LS3 and use the E brake when parking if there is an incline or decline. While parked in my garage, I usually do not use it.
