Learning at 15 MPH in an abandoned parking lot isn't going to kill anyone.

This is a video of my 13 year old daughter driving her first car, which just happened to my 2ss 6 speed Camaro. If she can do it so can you. have fun!

I like the way the OP spells transmission.

Someone should call Webster and have it changed to his way.

Depends on what you will use the car for. If it is your daily driver/commuter, I'd get an automatic. Shifting gears is fun, and its the way I would go on my weekend car, but doing it in stop and go traffic every day would be a pain.

If it were me, I'd probably get a manual, but that's just me. I have another car for commuting.

Of course, you're assuming this is where he will first drive the car. Maybe somebody else will drive it out of the dealer and to his abandoned parking lot for him. But he said he doesn't know anybody who can drive a stick. HMMMMM.

I said this is a PRIVATE SELLER. And the car will be delivered to my house. I live in a semi rural place where i can practice on an abandoned road by my house.

I stand corrected. Still it is a very expensive toy and you will hopefully be extremely careful and completely aware of your surroundings. Have at it. Congrats if you get it and have a great time.

Got a great price on my L99, no regrets, but I must admit I think the manual would be even more fun to drive. I'd say go for it.

Not to start anything but learning how do drive a manual is not that serious, you're acting like hes going to drive home drunk

to each his own though, i was driving a car with a stage 3 clutch for two years and traffic never bothered me when it came to shifting, only the people that caused the traffic in the first place
learning on the camaro will be fun, out of all the other cars i have driven the camaro is my favorite; meaning its simple and easy to handle. the camaro looks like a boat but handles far from it.
