Born on date...?

How do I find the exact born on date for my car? I was under the impression that my car was in the very early stages of the Camaro production and would like to find out

Any help or direction would be awesome, thanks!

Pop the hood, look down the driver's side of the engine to the frame rail. There's a sticker there. I believe that is the date it began down the line, not sure if it would have finished being built in the same day. I'm sure someone will correct me on that.

That sticker will have the date for that subassembly, and not the build date of the car as a whole, but it should be within a day or two of the overall build.
Good enough for most people.

I was unable to locate that sticker. Door jam says 04/09. Any other suggestions or hints of where that frame rail sticker is?

Standing in front of the car with the hood open of course, look straight down on your left side (passenger) between the back of the radiator and engine. The birth certificate decal is on top of the subframe rail running from left to right. Should be pretty easy to spot since it is a white label on a black frame.

I would add that I would get some clear packing tape and put it over the label for over time it will deteriate and become unreadable when it gets wet from driving in the rain for it is a laser printed label and not silk screened as all the others such as the ones in the door jamb.

If your VIN # is 5556 then that would put you somewhere between April 23-27th 2009 . If you really want to nail down the date along with more detailed build info visit , The Vintage Vehicle Services web site here in Canada . For a fee they will ship out all of your vehicle's info. Hope this helps.

I did this and it is worth the money. You get a very detailed packet of documents that are specific to your vehicle with all kinds of information.

BTW, on my born on date label it also includes a time stamp of when it was built which is 12-12-12 @ 6:01pm
