Engine break in methods
I know some of you will disagree, but this is how I like to break in engines. The pistons using his method, do not lie. He is not selling anything.
I've built about 50 engines using this method of break in. http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm |

GM has built more than 50. So I would just follow the manual.
If you have money and can build engines they your probably not worried about getting 200,000 + on it. Sure if your building race cars you break em in hard cause your just gonna tear it down sooner in a shop or blow it up. But production cars that you want 30 years of use before a rebuild then you baby it. |

I have to say I agree. I built many drag race engines and ran them hard right from the get go. My dad is an old drag racer and said if you build it right you don't have to baby it and we never did.

GM builds the car I would listen to them. You think they want more warranty work or less? I'm sticking with the owners manual, I want this car to last.

He didn't really say about using this to break in the motor in the camaro or any new cars for that matter. He merely was talking about breaking in engines ingeneral from what I read.

It will last through the warranty period either way, the engineers know this.
5 years, or 100,000 mile...notice how you'd have to drive a whole lot to hit the mileage before the time? |

I'll break in 50/50. Running it good and cruising around stop and go.

Another good reason to run it hard from the start if your talking about the camaro is, the ecu will learn your driving habits and be more aggresive.
