$7,000 down and finance the rest. Going through my Credit Union but no rate is locked in yet.

i decided not to give a down payment, but am going to put the money I have saved up into a bank account and the let my auto loan feed off of it for a while. won't have to worry about a car payment for about a year. and when i have extra money from my check i will add that against my principal

I'll probably have around 10000 give or take a couple if 0 percent is offered I would pay principal on my mortgage instead.

Looking to get a 2011 so it's a long way off but the goal is for 20-25k down, then finance the rest over 24 months. For what I want to get, with taxes and fees and things I expect the purchase to be really close to 40k. Hopefully there will be some deals by then and I won't have to pay MSRP.

Yep I did, he is awesome. Any idea what the financing through the dealer is like? Also since you already know your interest rate, how long is that good for? I didn't want to apply for a loan now, only to wait 6 months to get my car... just wondering how that would work, like if I should wait until the time gets closer...

Thanks

Stick to a credit union...Unless you can get 0% GMAC.

I pre qualified... Didn't run my credit, but went in there with my latest 3 FICO scores and account history. Said I will ot have a problem with the top tier loan rate.

How long did Matt say for your car, and what did you order?

Right now i have about 12k for a 2LT/RS but as I have learned over the last few days/weeks I probably won't be able to get financing any time soon. First time buyer, good score but no co-signer and only a short credit history as of yet. I guess I'll have to save even more and try again in a few months

Trade-in + 2K. Hopefully more than that, but this will do for now
