For the L99
I was reading an article in the latest editon of Chevy Hi Performance, and it had an article on new cams for the LSx engines. There was mention of two different companies coming out with cams just for the VVT/AFM LS motors that will allow you to keep it active with a cam change. One I had never heard of the other was Comp Cams. They have been doing work with the G8's system and were making over 420rwhp with there cams on these cars. Just thought id pass the info along to all here wanting the L99 and automatic.

Excellent! Any hardcore gearheads got an opinion on Comp Cams? All I know is that it's a household name, so can't be that bad...but I'd rather hear from someone who has real hand-on experience with cams.

^ I've never used one personally, but, My dad has used them repeatedly. As well as numerous other guys my dad ran around with.
They are great. They have great customer service. Custom grinds are pretty inexpensive, and the off the shelf stuff is ultra reliable when used for its purpose. The've been doing it forever. They get my vote.

If I end up having to go with some custom grind cams for the V6, they'll definitely be from comp.

I ended up ordering the automatic Camaro so that my wife is able to drive it. I will still be happy with it and will try at least one or two mods that doesn't mess up the factory warranty.. Would this mod be one of those or can it be done without affecting the warranty?

Most likely it would mess up the warranty. I'll let somebody more versed give a more solid answer though.

If thats the case, the extra HP isn't worth the risk on such an untested and new automobile..

I demand your blatant misquotation be removed at once and an apology be issued! In that post I was talking about them coming over to the V6 forum just to bash the V6 croud. I was making a constructive comment.
And yes, I have a feeling that any non-GMPP cam swap will void the powertrain warranty. - Xanthos

Comp Cams is great. I used one of there HR grinds for my stroker engine and its a great cam. Made good power peak and through out the range. Id use them again without a second thought.
