I cant think of any reason not to offer the blues other then a production problem, like they cant get the front bumper/surround painted in that color by the manufacturer. its gotta be something production related.

i doubt they would say, "Hey we just dont want Blue SS, becuase we think they are silly". a decision like that would make no sense.

I know it's a premium color, but with the red jewel tint coat, you have two reds available, and technically, with cyber gray, you have two gray/silver colors, but absolutely no blues? You gotta be friggin' kidding me!! I just don't see any logic here. I gotta say, GM, I greatly appreciate all that you've done with this car, but then to do something like this... I just don't understand. And I realize it's only a color, but it's not ONLY a color at all to me. And honestly, I'm sure the majority of car-buyers out there would say that the color is a big deciding factor for the car they buy... I'd really be curious to hear fbodfather's input on this.

Guess I may have to change my sig now, either the color or the year... :(

I just had a GREAT idea.... how about offering an SS with a V6 front facsia?!?!? That way if there were any production issues then they could still offer the SS in the color a lot of people want AND solve the complaints some nice folks had with the looks of the SS front.

Total sleeper too!

Awesome!

This is official. Blue is not available on SS. I've known but was unable to confirm due to my non-disclosure agreement with GM. Now that the consumer ordering guide is out, I can indeed confirm.

There is no "technical" reason why blue can't be done. The ONLY way to possibly get blue back on the palate for SS is through customer demand.

You know GM is reading this board. Keep the comments constructful. Those ready to buy, who will pass since blue is not available, should communicate that to their local dealerships too.

Does seem odd. Imperial blue with beige interior was one of my top choices. Wouldn't stop me from getting one but still no blue? Alsmost every car comes on at least one color blue.

Also why take colors away from the SS and not put and exclusive color for the SS?

Wow, what a disappointment. It's not even like they kept one of the two blues, they dumped both of them. Why they would go that route is beyond anyone, but maybe that's just typical GM starting to show through once again.

Yeah I'm not sure I understand this decision either. They should have at least kept one blue.

Or, what would have made more sense, is offer only one blue for the V6 and both for the SS. Why should those paying MORE for their vehicle be offered fewer options? I understand that GM is trying to put most of the focus on the V6 and really promote it, but punishing your enthusiasts who are willing to spend more on their vehicle than your casual buyer doesn't make much business sense either.

I am still thinking about color options for my SS and blue was one of those options. I started thinking about it even more and more. But, I was always leaning towards the cyber gray. I think GM just made up my mind for me....not that I wanted that.

But really........

For all of those people who were thinking about getting their SS in a shade of blue...

I'm sorry you all just got ..... (choosing words carefully) passed up.

How many shades of blue does the Mustang have on it???
Turtle just mentioned 3 shades???

Why is Fbodfather (or anyone of that rank) being silent on this issue?

Because they can see the reaction they'll get just fine by reading here. Once the enthusiasts order their cars (or not) and the general public starts asking for blue, they might reconsider.

I don't think that's very fair to the enthsiasts which are the most dedicated to this product.

I didn't say it was fair. I certainly don't understand it. Take Red Jewel as an example. Buy an LS and you can't have it. Buy anything else and you can. What's the difference on the body between and LS and an LT? Foglights. Why can't they paint an LS in Red Jewel then?

I agree. Makes no sense.

Not that I'm "anyone of rank" but I was one of the focus group participants. I got the confirmation directly from Cheryl Pilcher.

They cant be everywhere all the time. Scott is insanely busy at work.

It's a done deal. There is no blue. Read the ordering guide. It was something I was told I couldn't confirm until the consumer ordering info went public.

As I said in my initial post confirming this, if blue is a deal breaker for you, be sure to let your dealer know when you ask for your deposit back.
