Sweet!
Looks to be running ZL1/1LE shoes...or something very similar. Can't see it getting the exact same wheels when it hits production, so either those wheels are slightly different, or just for testing. Its going to be a freakin monster that's for sure.

I assume the wheels are placeholders. Just pull something off the shelf thats the same size & weight (or close enough) & move on.

Just read in Car and Driver tonight, that the new CTS V will be sedan only, no coupes or wagons, only an 8 speed automatic (bummer) and the LT4 supercharged with at least 600hp. Out in 2015 as a 2016 model.

And based on the price of the V-sport, I'm guessing this will be starting above $75,000. Likely well over. The chief competitor, the M5 starts at $92,000 and GM has been eerily sticking to BMW pricing and contenting strategies of late.

No coupe or manual trans? I'm sure that will go over well.

No coupe isn't really surprising. There wasn't anything to substantiate even the thought of a CTS Coupe.

Yes, ATS coupe will be marginally effective, but it will be so small that the appeal will be small as well. Audi coupe is small but MB and BMW offer coupes in both C/4 and E/6 series and MB now throws in the S-class coupe. Cadillac will suffer until they can truly stretch to a global portfolio to compete with the "Big 2". The XLR failed only because it wasn't as good from an interior POV to compete with the MB. The CTS coupe failed because it was a horribly compromised exercise in styling leaving no headroom for even a normal sunroof and a rear seat that would put almost any other 2+2 in a better light. Gen4 Camaro had a better back seat. The lack of a serious coupe is just another indicator that Cadillac isn't there yet and will depend on the likes of the Escalade to make the dough.

Now, dropping the wagon from the line up, I can understand. |

I bet it won't matter a whole lot. A high manual take rate on any car is 50% or so, usually its more like 10% if I remember correctly. And coupes are just as unpopular. Plus, there are a lot of people that will buy a CTS-V regardless of what body style or transmission it has. They might prefer a manual and/or 2-door, but its not a deal breaker for them.

That sucks no new cts coupe. I was curious to see what they would do with the design. But wasn't a fan of the last cts coupe so o well.
No manual kind of shocks me tho |
