LSX454 good for 2500 hp???
Hi
Just read that article in internet and want to have your opinion on that http://www.corvetteforum.com/article...38435502989065 Chevrolet has been building crate motors for racers and enthusiasts for over 40 years. But in 2007, they released an engine that truly changed the game: the LSX. What’s so special about it? Well, it can be had with a big-block’s displacement (one of the more popular sizes is the 454) but it only occupies the space of a small-block. Additionally, it produces far more than one horsepower per cubic inch: it actually makes 620 hp in stock trim and can withstand up to 2500hp! Mario |

It's heavy, I'm not thinking about making 2500hp
I'll stick to the aluminum. Set up and tuned correctly 1000hp is no sweat to the aluminum blocks.

To the OP, I agree with Little. Unless you are going for huge numbers or need 6 bolt heads, the aluminum blocks will be fine.

It's about a 80 lb. increase in weight over the aluminum block.

If you're looking for a block to go to those numbers, there are still aluminum blocks available to achieve this, an RHS prob being the most expensive. With that said, I've seen those sleeved OEM ERL blocks do some crazy shit. One of the mods, Robert, has a crazy TT ERL setup and it's not even a 6 bolt.
