You will more than likely get a code after you drive for a little bit. The codes the headers throw will not hurt anything but it may be annoying seeing the CEL on while you drive. We recommend getting a tune with the headers so you get the most out of them.

Might not get a CEL for quite some time if you install O2 extenders at the rear bungs.I know lots of people who run them with great success.
I actually was planning on going with the 02 extenders. If I do this behind the high flow cats do I stand a better chance of avoiding the cel until I'm ready to get a tune?

A tune is something that I am considering doing along with the rest of these mods. The only reservation I'm having about doing a tune now is the warranty. I just got my car in May and have yet to put the first 1000 miles on her.

Does your long sytem with the high flow cats and x pipe come with the O2 extenders? If so, will this avoid the cel until I'm ready to get the tune?

Without 02 extensions, yes they will.

The headers them selves I was told might void your warranty. Check with your dealer or plan on removing them if you need serious work done.

12,000 miles here with O2 extenders, longtubes, not cats and no tune. Not once has it popped a CEL.

Stainless Works 1 7/8 headers w/high flow cats here, no O2 extenders. I've put 1100 miles on the car since I put the headers on and still no CEL yet!

My 4th gen didn't throw a code either. I think the paramenters are tighter on the newer cars.

I'm running ARH 1 7/8 headers and high flow cats and I got p1133 and p1153 for codes. Insufficient switching of the front sensors. I talked to a tuner and he stated that sensors aren't getting hot enough even though they are heated sensors. The solution is to tune or move the sensors closer to the heads.

Its a waste not to get a proper tune after adding long tubes anyway. You leave a ton of power on the table without it.
