I purchased a used Camaro about a month ago... Today the dealer leaves me a voicemail that I need to call him ASAP about onstar and imediately press my onstar button. What's the deal?

No I didn't press it... I work out of town and just got home. I am paranoid... I wish you guys could hear the voicemail sounds urgent. But my car is fine now. I'll see what happens.

if they sold you a stolen car it might be urgent but i don't think that would happen.

dealerships are graded by GM based on whether customers have their onstar systems registered for them via the internet, AND whether the client pushes the button.

your dealer is currently losing a notch and if you havent completed the enrollment within 30 days, it is a notch on their permanent records. Also, your onstar system has some things it would like to ask you, like...how they can email you monthly diagnostics...and what color your car is for stolen vehicle tracking purposes. Please press the button.

This. We bought a Traverse back in June and our sales man bugged us every couple of days for about two weeks about it.

It's a similar fashion to how when you buy something on eBay they want you to rate them as a seller so their ratings go up. I'd press the button to help them out. Don't worry too much about the urgency of the phone call, it's probably not that bad.

oh and btw.....Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.
