Just because you have out of state plates doesn't mean that they "can't" cite you, but they are less likely to site you. You still have to follow the laws of the state that you are in.

As far as registering in a different state, two of the three have to be from the same state (Drivers license, Registration and Insurance). Even active duty military have to follow that one.

Looks like we may be registering all our cars in Oregon. I'll be down here for "work" only.

I was pulled over a couple weeks ago for my tint. I was driving the posted speed limit. The only reason I was pulled over was the tint. It's only a fixit ticket, but it's still going to cost me (unless I can find a LEO who will sign off for me). I'll have to remove the tint, get it signed off, then reapply the tint. Ugh. Or I can just pay the fine of $165 (and enter a 'guilty' plea).
