KooKs Headers

Anyone know if the kooks 1 7/8 headers will fit onto the stock exhaust?

Yea stock is 2.5 in. When you order just tell them what you are doing the HF cats will have a 2.5 outlet or the off road pipe will have a 2.5 outlet.

Actually....you don't even have to tell them anything other than it's for a 5th Gen Camaro. The will come with either a off-road connection pipe or you can upgrade to the HF cats. Either one of those will have a 3" inlet and a 2.5" outlet and will hook directly into your stock exhaust.

BTW: I highly recommend getting them ceramic coated. Mostly for looks than anything else. Here are some pics of where they will look like after a few thousand miles vs what they look like coated. Coating might slightly dull a little bit but basically will remain that same brightness. It's worth the extra money....especially if you get them from someone like Maryland Speed because the upgrade to coating is usally less than $200 and is done buy Jet Coat who has been in the business for a long time.

The price quote I got was about double the price you state for the polished 1300 coating from Jet Hot in North Carolina. Did you send your's to Jet Hot or have someone locally coat them? Also, you show Kooks in your sig, but you have pics of ARH. Is that pic just for an example?

Call Branden at Maryland Speed. He tossed in the coating for free when I bought mine. And it was Jet Coat. Very nice looking.

Were your's coated on the inside? Jet Hot coats their's inside and out. If coating is done by someone local, it is usually just the outside and is under $200. As you probably know, Jet Hot is the name of the facility that ceramic coats items. It is a ceramic coating. So it may be a ceramic coating, but it may not be Jet Hot. I'm just trying to figure out the quote, $340 + shipping to Jet Hot. I'm thinking Jet Coat is just the outside of the header and is different the Jet Hot. Most local shops can't do the polished, since it needs to be tumbled, from my understanding.

Hmm. Not sure about the inside. I wrote down what Branden told me when I was talking to him about the stepped headers. My notes say "Jet Hot - coating". I got a sticker from them as well because they shipped them to me directly after being coated . Best to call him and ask. His prices are very competitive and he's one of Kooks largest sellers.

Since it is Jet Hot, it should be coated on the inside, additional heat benefits as well as flow. Is it the polished finish or a silver/flat finish? I have a set of ARH I want coated, but at close to $400, how can I justify it?

I ordered my ceramic coated Kooks from Maryland Speed and they came from Jet-Hot and had the Jet-Hot paperwork. Call MS to get the best pricing. If I'm not mistaken they have a special going on right now.

I'm thinking that's what I should have done.:( I saw they were offering Kooks stepped headers for the same price as there regular awhile ago. But it's too late, already have mine. Was it a significant amount for having them coated?

Mine took 7 days at the coater and then 2 days shipped from NC to IL.

Shiny... A shame to have to hid them under the hood.
