Thats BULLSHIT man!

Wait until next year, then get it. Free your mind of the Camaro, save a few bucks and be patient. Next year there will be LT's on the lot.

I think you burned yourself out on the Camaro man. I did the same thing on the LS1's back in the day. Never got one :( I wish I did! I'm not f*cking around this time though. I'm holding out, saving $, fixing my finances, being patient.

Next spring we both can have the car....

I'm gonna be commuting to college for at least two more years. I REALLY wanted to be driving the Camaro. Reading all those stories of how it turns you into an "instant rock star," how so many people were so pleased with it...I really wanted one so that I could have a real reason to be excited about life again. To have something to be proud of and look forward to driving and showing off.

But the same thing turned me off. Cost of ownership. Being locked into that decision for 5 years. Being just over broke for that long cuz of it. 800 a month is brutal. Yeah, I was pretty hurt too when I decided to move on.

But actually, now that I've had time to think about it, and after talking to a friend of mine who is a Chevy dealer, I'm really starting to feel better about it. My friend was telling me that they all were going to wait for at least two years to get one for a bunch of reasons. For one, there will be better financing then. Also, new appearence packages will pop up. But the biggest reason is that this is still the first year model of the 5th gens. You NEVER should buy a first year of a new gen model. Always try to wait at least two years if you can. Mainly for drivetrain issues to appear and be resolved. But with the Camaro you also got stuff like the HUD system appearing. Visibility issues being looked at. No pun intended.

New appearance packages, financing, first year issues resolved, HUD, safety/visibility improvements, MAYBE even better gas milege as well, and who knows what new features will pop up in the Camaro, it all adds up. Small things on their own, I know, but together, all these things might be worth it. I'm a beliver of "good things come to those who wait, unless dealing with an Apple product," and I'm sure over time you'll start to feel better about your decision too.

No worries man. You just keep on keeping on. You don't have to prove anything to anyone. You do whatever you feel is best, and your reward for waiting will be sweeter and feel worth it in the end.

Dude if its about the payment in Canada u can get loans with a balloon payment on the end of it that keeps the payments real low. A 35k loan is like $550 a month thats nothing for a 35k car. For 25k is would be like 250-300 thats a joke. U didnt explore all your options my friend. Having 0 debt is fine but getting debt and being responsible with it is a good thing. Its building your credit rating up which can be important. The stock market wiped out everyone's wealth 50% of more in the last 6 months. All these financial people telling us save your money put it into a stock mutual fund u will have x amount in 20 years etc what a joke that is . All that saving for what so u can make some rich guy richer.Enjoy your money go spoil yourself there are soo few pleasures in life why give up now.

Two observations...

1. With massive government borrowing (as is taking place now) comes inflation. Inflation drives up interest rates. I have a 5% rate on my new Camaro. The odds that you'll ever see auto loan rates that low again are slim to none. I'm 41 and never have I seen them so low. You can rest assured, two years from now, you'll be lucky to get an auto loan at 8%.

2. Wait for two model years to pass and you have an out dated car in it's third year. The press will already be talking about the new Camaro to come since historically GM has freshened or reintroduced models every four-five years. The chance to be one of the first to own a car that so moves the American public doesn't come around very often. Seize the moment I say. You have a warranty if something does need repair. As for appearance packages, make your own. Customize your car now to suit your personality.

That said, I'm all for fiscal responsibility, so if you just can't afford it then say so and live with that. Anything beyond that statement is just rationalization my friend.

You're still very young, so this is a smart move. I have no worries in the future you will finally get your Camaro. See you down the line.

800 DOLLAR PAYMENTS!!!!!! No Way. I do not have the greatest credit in the world and I pay no where near that. I almost didn't get mine because I thought my payments and insurance would be to high. I was wrong. Dealership went to battle for me and got me in a car that I can afford and live life and be financially secure. Best Dealership I have ever been too. Oh and I Love being in that car. Glad I got it.

wow....just seen this!
If you really wanna good deal....plunk that money your saving down on some of this cheap beach-front property while the market is low!

Then when it swings around....you'll have more than enough DiNero to play with!

I'm not even close to any purchase yet.....just come in here and dream a little.
However, I did just get notice that I am listed in a "Will" from an unknown family member that lived in West Central Park NY. (a house located there...not like a bum in the park!)
We'll see what that may bring!
