Transmission question...

So, it has been confirmed that the SS will have a 'sport mode' for the traction control and most likely the auto transmission.

Do we have any idea if the v6 auto gets a sport mode?

They want to compete in a lot of different market segments, especially against imports. The V6 auto needs sport mode, and there's no reason not to have it -- a single button and an additional program (which has already been written anyway).

Does the CTS auto have a sport mode?

My Sky has 3 modes, full on, Competition Mode and full Off. Competition mode it takes more of an out of control attitude before taking action, But even under full off it will kick back in if you happen to spin out....
When I was driving it at Bristol i forgot to put it in competition mode, and every time I went into one of the high banked corners at over 80MPH it would kick in and try to stabilize the car. This overheated the brakes and then it kicked completely off after a couple laps, I didn't realize what happened untill afterwards and I started thinking about it. So anytime you do any hard driving either put it in sport/competition mode or turn it off if possible..

Skyman 08, we were talking about transmission programs, not stability control programs.

On the V6 auto, in particular. I have heard talk of the the caddy being in "sports mode" for given tests. Not sure if thats for the tranny or the traction/stability control. But, it seems certain that the v6 auto will have paddle shifters, at the least.

P.S. - Just thought I'd clarify what I said earlier.

Not necessarily. There are several cars out there with paddles and no sport mode. The base lancer for example.
