Basically it's preference. The Auto has shown to be a pretty strong tranny. So no problems there. With the manual you are more likely to snap a half shaft or something else if you launch it to hard, but for most people unless your into the 600+hp area you'll be fine. Once you get into that range either of them is gonna start breaking things.
I will say I'm very happy I choose the manual.

It's just preference man, for me I traded my manual in for an automatic, manual is fun and all but for a daily driver where I live it can get pretty old fast, not to mention automatics have tapshift, I know it's not as fun as using a clutch but it's better than nothing.

That's why you take it out of gear at the light, until a few seconds before it goes green

I beg to differ...at least on the color.
Whites are fastest because the pigmentation is the lightest and weighs the least (least density)!!!

The LS3 comes with a more aggressive cam, a higher redline, and 3.42 rearend. The L99 comes with a more civil cam, lower redline, and a 3.27 rearend. Get whatever you want....if mine was a daily driver I probably would have gotten the Auto.

Black has less wind resistance. And is often refered to as 'Automatic' in color.
Just sayin' |

I test drove both before I bought my Camaro, and I am very happy that I went with the L99 (auto). The manual is a great car, but it just wasn’t for me. I say go drive both back to back and decide which one you feel is best for you.
As far as color goes, you’re in the same quandary that I was- Silver or Cyber Grey. I chose Cyber Grey with the black racing stripes and I have to admit, I love the car. The biggest problem for me right now is my car is sitting in my garage with a battery tender hooked up to it because it won’t quit snowing. I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be a long winter! |

It's obviously a personal preference. But the autos are faster.
Oh, yeah... my L99 is plenty fun to drive (and YES I can drive a manual). (Darth_Emma ducks.) I almost started with "oh no! not another one of these threads!" Maybe I should have and left it there. PS: I was kidding! Except for the "personal preference" part. |

Row your own or mash and go is a personal preference.Automatics can be just as mean as the manuals but they cost a little more if you want big hp. ABM is so fast you can't catch it anymore.
